About Me

Cesar Harada (28) is an French-Japanese inventor and entrepreneur.
Cesar invented a ground-breaking sailing technology, a boat that changes shape, “Protei”. Originally developed to clean up the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Protei is an Open Hardware project now developed by an international community of scientists, engineers and designers for many other applications such as nuclear radiation sensing off Japan, plastic sensing in the Pacific garbage patch, red tide studies in Mexico and much more.
Cesar is also the general coordinator of the future International Ocean Station. Former Project leader at MIT, Cesar teaches Masters in Design & Environment at Goldsmiths University in London. Cesar graduated in 2009 from the Design Interactions course at the Royal College of Arts in London, his collaborative project Open_Sailing received the Ars Electronica Golden Nica award for the [NEXT IDEA].

Today was just lovely. I love this place, I m with wonderful people. The weather is fabulous, the food is good. My work is interesting, and best of all I've been windsurfing all afternoon in lovely conditions. I feel so lucky. Working hard, playing hard.

I'm so incredibly happy.

who knows maybe you'd want to own an island on this coast someday: http://www.cascobayisland.com ...'only' 1.4mil, split it between 22 open sailors and that's 50,000usd/person =)
but next to where my father lives there's a small island with a cabin called 'pound of tea island' because it was sold for a pound of tea.. now there's a good deal!

Cool island! I dont feel like owning an island yet though hehehe. You are right, the price is reasonnable, especially if you look at the equipment there is.

haha yeah I think when most of my hair has turned gray, then I will look for my island. are we still on for the 15th? I might be down there next weekend too.
